The railroad industry has been searching for a low VOC, sprayable switch lubricant with a high flash point for a long time. We are currently testing a new AcroLube product that looks to be the answer. Preliminary test results shows excellent wear and adhesion with impressive coefficient of friction values. This product is thin enough it can be applied using conventional hand pump spray type containers. We currently have two products in testing, one with a flash point of 185 o F.
Final testing should be done soon, with a projected availability date of Fall 2006.
